Critical data today will be Chicago Fed and Dallas Fed Manufacturing Indexes which show signs of slowdown, but that will be out at 0830 and 1030 EDT. Will that break MNQM23 out of its VWAP box?
That is indeed true, but the Federal government has crawled into the deep corner of the pool with lead-weighted shackles since 1971 (and really earlier than even that) and spent madly since the time of LBJ. Now their too tired to walk to the shallow end as the water begins filling the pool rapidly. All we would really need to do is set budget priorities, stop spending, back our currency again, stop raising the debt ceiling, bring our industries back, and put a 100%+ tariff on PRC imported goods, and we might have a shot and turning the mess around. Only issue with that is our leaders on either (or any perhaps) side of the aisle wants to solve the problem. It cuts their revenue streams (particularly from the PRC, but also from Ukraine, Russia, or any other foreign influencer who can electronically transfer money, write checks that won't bounce, launder money, or perhaps even use the 20th century notion of providing cash in briefcases). Other than that, "everything is fine". See the 8:20 point on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVh75ylAUXY .
Fed is damned if they do and screwed if they don't!
